At Boermarke, sustainability is an integral part of our strategy. From our transition to plant-based products to reducing our ecological footprint, we are committed to future-proof food production every day.

Our approach

Our approach is concrete, measurable and focused on the long term. We align ourselves with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on the themes where we can make the most impact.

Our themes

  • Transition to plant-based
    We are developing more and more plant-based alternatives to dairy products, This choice not only reduces the carbon footprint of our products, but also responds to changing consumer needs. Emissions are analyzed and verified annually by an independent auditor.
  • Energy saving & recovery
    Our production processes are designed for maximum energy efficiency. We actively focus on heat recovery, energy-efficient machines and making our installations more sustainable.
  • Water reduction & purification                                                                                                                Water is precious. We reduce our water consumption wherever possible and ensure that used water is carefully purified before it flows back into the environment. We actively avoid harmful chemicals.
  • Reduction of material consumption & waste separation
    We limit the use of packaging materials and ensure careful separation of waste streams. Less residual waste = more circularity.

We minimize our water consumption and ensure water purification without pollution. We also focus on safe working conditions and chemical-free processes, with an eye for health and the environment.
